  1. Hey AJ,
My non-quilty craft is also knitting! Tho since the quilting bug bit me, I've been quilting more than knitting.
I don't really twitter much - tried for the BDSI,and it didn't work, but I will add you to my list if I can figure it out.
Thanks for the giveaway. I love the second fabric!

  2. I also crochet and embroider. And I find making blanket forts a bit of an art as well. :)

  3. Yes, I follow you on twitter. I started twitter recently. It is fun. My non-quilty craft is crocheting rags rugs. I use selvedges and strips of scrap fabric. My quilty friends give me all their scraps! Remind me on twitter and I'll tweet you a pic of one. Tami In Denver

  5. My favorite non-quilty craft these days is knitting. I just started a few years ago when I needed a craft that I could do without getting out of my recliner after surgery.

  6. Hi AJ. My favourite craft other than quilting is cross stitch / embroidery. Unfortunately, my eyes aren't as good as they used to be, so I don't do much of it anymore.

  7. I like to crochet fabric stops into bowls. I have to have something to do with my hands while watching tv or relaxing, so that works if I don't have any binding to sew. I follow you on twitter.
    Keep calm and carry yarn!

  11. I've been listening to and enjoying your podcast, AJ. Laughing at your description of Jodi running off with a string of stitched triangles (?) for chewing purposes. Oh dear! Anyway, my favorite non-quilty craft is crochet. I love to make afghans, scarves, and hats. Haven't tackled making a sweater yet. I also got back into embroidery, after working on the Birdie Stitches blocks from Lil Miss Shabby last year. I've got 7 blocks done so far. Thank you for the giveaway, and keep recording!

  13. My favorite non-quilty craft would have to be cross stitch. As my eyes get older, however, my Aunt introduced me to Swedish Weaving which I am really enjoying.

I wanted to second your comment from your 10 April podcast about the white lines on hand-dyed fabrics when using the frixion pen. I had the same sad results when using it on batiks. Nasty white lines. Horrible experience. So definitely test those hand dyed fabrics before resulting to frixion pens. And with the pounce...LOVE it! I learned a trick. I use one of those foam "paint brushes", like they use for stencil painting, to apply the pounce. I use far less of the product and get a really nice result with no air dust which is so annoying.

Keep podcasting and HUGS to your puppies. I love your stuff!

  14. Hi AJ,

I have done crochet and X-stitch for years, but my favorite non-quilting pastime is reading. What I work on depends on where I am and what glasses are required to see what I'm working on. For example, if I take my son to ref a soccer game, I like to crochet since I can use my regular glasses and see the field/yarn at the same time. When I'm watching TV, I can sew on binding, but I need both the reading and regular glasses. When I quilt or read, I don't use any glasses. Getting old is fun!

The pounce sounds interesting. I don't do a lot of my own quilting, but I'm working on one right now where the blue pen will NOT show up on the dark Moda fabrics.

    All the best.

  17. I do follow you on Twitter. I made myslef give up all my other crafts several years ago because I get too scattered and ADD about them. I do however still knit and crochet. Can't give up the yarn.

  19. Hi AJ! It's hard to pick just 'one' favorite, but I guess when I'm not quilting, my first go-to is usually crocheting. I love making doilies. Other things that keep me busy are applique and tole painting.
