TOO Many Projects

In case you didn't know, I am addicted to "Craftsty" an online craft class platform. I am enrolled in several classes! They offer knitting, quilting, paper crafting, sewing, spinning and weaving. What's good about this is that they never go away.

If you follow me on "Twitter" or my you have seen a completed project from a Craftsy class. If not, you can find a pic of my completed project as well as the "BOM" that is in progress here: http://iknitnquilt2.blogspot.com/2012/07/happy-4th-of-july.html.

This is my foundation for my "Stitch & Slash" block.

SwapBot! Do you know it? I am participating in a string block swap this month. The swap is being hosted by Katie, of Katie's Quilting Corner Podcast. We are using Bonnie Hunter's technique for foundation piecing. The foundation we are using is muslin. I love string piecing!! Your 1/4" does not always have to be a 1/4". Great beginner quilter block! FYI, I have completed my 16 blocks. I will be mailing the blocks tomorrow. Each partner will get four blocks. Yay, another completed task for the month of July. Hmmm, maybe I should keep a log of completed crafty projects each month. BTW, sneak peek of the blocks.

If you enjoy enhancing your thread stash as much as your fabric/fiber (fSq), check out Connecting Threads website. Essential thread is discounted 30%, $1.74. Can't beat that price and the colors are yummy. I started using this line of thread as a recommendation by one of the Craftsy instructors, Wendy Butler Burns. This is one of her thread choices in her "Stupendous Stitches" class.

Fusion Crochet A Long, hosted by "Little Miss Shabby" information can be found here:

  1. I think I have you beat on projects in the works! Or maybe I'm a close second. LoL. I am quilting, thread painting, weaving, sewing (projects like purses), made a birdbath out of glass dishes, baking, and I just started knitting and spinning on a spindle! I'm so hooked. Oh wait, forgot the card making and my photos on canvas! LOL. Hope you're settling in well. Take care!

  2. Just listened to your last two podcasts. Congrats on the move! I also love the Craftsy platform. I've taken other on-line classes before (and loved them for the convenience of learning from home) but also like theirs in particular for having a "lifetime" membership to the class so there's no rush to meet a class ending deadline. I signed up for three of the free-motion quilt classes (including the new one by Angela Walters and one on tailoring pants in the hopes that I'll get back to clothing sewing some day (right now the quilting addiction rules).

Also love to hear that someone else loves power tools and Big Bang Theory! I haven't bought a jig saw yet (opted for a circular saw instead) and BBT is my family's favorite -- can't wait for the new fall episodes!

  4. I'm doing Stitch n' Slash right now! In fact, I was couching on mine while listening to this episode. (Yep, I'm a little behind. But caught up now!) Yes, you did catch yourself--the teacher of both Stupendous Stitching and Stitch n' Slash is Carol Ann Waugh. Wendy Butler Berns is Art Quilting 101(which I'm also working on). I plan on doing Stupendous Stitching once I've finished Art Quilting 101. (Just finished Stitch n' Slash--at least, I will have as soon as the project is done!) I like your colors! I used regular cottons on mine so it's a bit more frayed. We'll see what it looks like once it's completely done...
